Best dog car seat

Sunday, October 14th, 2018

Since I posted about another product, let me talk about this one too because this may help someone else.

After over 2 years and 2 months waiting for our car, we finally received our Tesla Model 3 back in July. Although it was my order and my wife was not even aware when I made the reservation for the car on April 1st, 2016, I let she do the first drive out of the Tesla Service Center. I know, I don’t know how or why I did it, but you can imagine the anxiety.

You know how it is when you get a new car… I was being very careful with it, so there was no way that I’d let our dog Chewie in the back seats with no cover or any other kind of protection. So I started researching our options. At the time, there was nothing custom for Tesla’s and I couldn’t find any recommendation on the Model 3 forums. So I started looking on Amazon and other sites for recommendations.

I went from those ugly seat covers, to the hammock covers, to pet car seats. Chewie is a rough coat Jack Russell mix, so it would be nice if he could seat higher to look out of the window and bark at bicycles, so we decided to go with a car seat.

The requirements were:

  • Protect the seats from scratches
  • Good size for our small dog to be able to look out the window
  • It has to look nice
  • It has to be safe for Chewie in case of accidents

After looking at many options, I found one that matched our requirements.

This is the one (you can see more about it here: https://amzn.to/2Cgdxyf or click on the picture below):

K&H Pet Products Bucket Booster Pet Seat

Chewie loves it and it keeps him safe, since the seat itself is locked by the seatbelts and it comes with two hooks that you we can lock to his harness.

We liked it so much that we ended up buying a second one to keep in my wife’s car. She used to drive him around in the back seat, but we figured this is a much safer and better option overall. I hope this helps you decide.

Best noise cancelling headphones

Sunday, October 14th, 2018

Today I was talking to a friend about my noise cancelling headphones. It was one of the best purchases I’ve ever made, despite the price tag (at the time) of over $300. They are available now on Amazon for $179. You can click here to check them out: https://amzn.to/2pSQjGV

I don’t travel by plane that much, but at least once a year I take long flights to Brazil or to California (I still live in South Florida). Having the Bose QuietComfort 25 in those flights made a huge difference. They are comfortable, come in a nice travel case and when the noise canceling is on, you might forget you are on a plane. After 3 years they are still going. I just need to replace the pads, but they still work great.

Since I found this was going to be useful to my friend I thought why not share with more people.

They have a new version now Bose QuietComfort 35 (series II), but I haven’t tried those yet. They have the same price tag of the 25 when I bought it 3 years ago, so it’s probably a good idea to get this one if it fits your budget.
